It's Almost Fall Ya'll! - Candy Apple Recipe

Fall is in the air! At least as much as it can be for Florida anyway!

Here is a nice recipe for Candy Apples - One of my favorite fall treats!

1-1/2 Tbsp. Butter
1-1/2 cups light brown sugar
6 Tbsp. Water
Popsicle Sticks
8-10 Apples (McIntosh works well)

  • Melt butter in sauce pan and add brown sugar and water.
  • Stir until smooth consistency
  • Gently bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 3 minutes, until the pan's sides get steamy and mixture is thin but somewhat sticky
  • Remove from heat
  • Pierce the center of each apple with popsicle stick, swirl in the caramel mixture until coated
  • You can add chopped peanuts if you like at this point
  • Place on a greased cookie sheet to harden
  • Refridgerate for 1 - 2 hours
Serves 8-10
